Detailed 11 Days Best of Uganda Gorillas & Chimpanzee Tracking Safari
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international airport – Pick up and Transfer to Kampala Capital City
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be welcomed by our company representative and driver guide for a transfer to your reserved hotel in Kampala for relaxation with a glass of fresh juice, briefing about the entire tour and later go for an evening Kampala city tour but this will depend on the time you have arrived at Entebbe. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Kidepo Valley National Park with en-route stop at Jinja Town a home source of river Nile.
After breakfast embark on your magnificent road drive to Kidepo Valley National Park through Mabira Forest Reserve and Jinja town to explore the source of River Nile, Sipi Falls. Before meeting Kidepo Valley National Park explore a variety of world treasured attractions such as the impressive Sezibwa Falls this is a cultural heritage site of the Buganda Kingdom that is rich with traditional folklore, Mabira Forest reserve the largest natural forest in Central Uganda that extends several miles along the Kampala – Jinja highway, the Source of the River Nile with a boat ride from the shores of the Nile to the exact point where John Speke, the first European to see the source of the world’s longest river stood. Proceed to Sipi Falls, for Lunch, then you will trek through the Sipi Falls, characterized by four spectacular falls along river Sipi, flowing down the Mount Elgon. Then proceed northwards to Kidepo Valley National Park.

Day 3: Morning game drive – Evening nature Walk to the hot springs / nature walk
After breakfast take a photographic game drives along the trails of the national park, expect to explore the region of the river Narus valley. Kidepo contains one of the most exciting faunas of any Ugandan parks, with over 80 species of mammals several of which restricted only to Kidepo, like cheetah, striped hyena and caracal. The bird list boasts over 465 species among these include the flightless bird “Ostrich”. Have a short break for lunch and later go for an evening game drive lined along Kidepo River, in search for Ostriches and leopards, tortoises along the way. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Kidepo Valley National Park – Morning game drive – Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, last game drive in Kidepo National Park purposely in search for cheetahs, loins and ostriches. Then proceed in the direction of Murchison Falls National Park, the biggest national park of Uganda. The distance is long, reach the park during time to check in at lodge, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning Game drive – Afternoon boat cruise –Evening hiking to the Top of the falls
On this day after breakfast, head to the northern sector of the Park where game drives are carried out. This drive will provide opportunities to watch various wildlife including; elephants, buffalo, Jackson hartebeest, Kobs, lion, leopard, and giraffe among other wildlife will leave you with a taste of African savannah wilderness. Have short break for lunch. After lunch, you will sail upstream by boat to the calm Victoria Nile, at the base of waterfalls just below the devil’s cauldron. Here you can marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles and over a 17 km stretch you will see elephants, water bucks, Uganda kobs and more. This area is also a habitat of many bird species including Goliath herons, Egyptian geese, and others, then embark on an evening hiking to the top of the falls. Return to the lodge or for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Kibiro Salt Village – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Get up early enough, have breakfast check out cross the river and head Kibale Forest National Park via Kibiro village which is known as a small fishing village found at the base of the Western Rift valley along the Southeastern shores of Lake Albert in Uganda and majorly of people in this area do fishing, produce and trade salt. In the fishing villages of Kibiro there are Hot springs situated also at the shores in Kigorobyo sub-county, hence can be reached after an hour of travel by road from Hoima town approximately 35 km. Have lunch and after exploring this village embark on the drive to meet Kibale Forest NP the home to the hundreds of primates for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Morning Chimpanzee tracking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
This day after morning breakfast, your driver will take you to the park information center where you will be briefed together with other guests about what to do and not to do while tracking chimpanzees. Thereafter you will set out to look for the chimpanzees in the forest and experience unforgettable. Tracking might take 2 to 6 hours of which are based on the location of chimpanzees. In the process of seeing chimpanzees you will be able to see also different birds and other primates like the black and white colobus, grey cheeked Mangabeys, golden monkeys among others, and various trees species as you walk through the forest.
Later after this amazing time with the chimpanzees, return to the lodge for lunch and embark on the drive to meet Queen Elizabeth NP. Have dinner & Overnight.

Day 8: Morning Game to Kasenyi Track – Afternoon Boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel – Evening game drive
Today after breakfast go for an early morning game drive to Kasenyi track the popular place as a mating ground for Uganda Kobs and a hunting ground for the big predators and variety of different animal species such as Water bucks, red buck, bush buck, warthog huge elephants and herds of caped buffalo. Have short break for lunch and go for the 2 hours’ afternoon a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which joins Lake Edward and George. Kazinga Channel supports the biggest number of Hippos and Crocodiles in the whole of Africa, you will also spot large herds of Elephants, Buffaloes, it is also a paradise to the bird lovers, among the common species to look out for are the Martial Eagles, African spoonbills, Cormorants, African Skimmers, Pelicans, Papyrus Gonolek, in addition to the occasional hard to pin down Shoe Bill Stork. After a boat launch go for an evening game drive in search for the big cats and predators of the park.

Day 9: Ishasha sector – Transfer Bwindi Forest National Park – Evening Community walk
This day have breakfast and head out to Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is proudly known for harboring tree climbing lions that are mainly found in the giant fig and acacia trees. After meeting face to face with these amazing trees climbing lions drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park the well known as the Switzerland of Africa and the home to the a half of the world’s mountain gorillas, have lunch and later go for community encounter to support the orphanage families. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 10: Morning gorilla Trekking – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for evening canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi
Wake up early morning for breakfast and depart for the morning pre trek Gorilla briefing at the park Headquarters. Later go for your long time awaited activity “Gorilla trekking” the time taken while trekking is not known but it is expected to be between2-8 hours depending on the movement of the Gorilla family you are allocated to. During the trek expect to discover other primates such as Chimpanzees, black and white colombus monkey, vervet monkey, and many others.
On encounter, spend an hour of exhilarating moments with these gentle giants. Return to the lodge for a shower, lunch and then go for another cultural encounter for story telling about the history of the park by the elders of the community and to surprise you people of this area are still in the indigenous life style. Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for 2 hours canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and Overnight.
